WEBINAR

CEE Red Hat Tech Talks:
Serverless Java on OpenShift with Knative and Quarkus

ON-DEMAND

OVERVIEW

Welcome to the first webinar of the CEE Red Hat Tech Talks series!
This talk will consist of two parts: a theoretical introduction and a short live coding session (no need for any special prep for attendees), followed by Q&A.

We will start with some basics related to Knative Serving and Eventing. Then we will focus on integration between Knative Eventing and Apache Kafka, and see how to run Kafka on Kubernetes.
How Quarkus framework may simplify and speed up our development on Kubernetes? After a short introduction, we will focus especially on serverless features offered by Quarkus Funqy and integration with Kafka through the SmallRye Reactive Messaging extension. In the live coding session part, we will implement a simple SAGA pattern between three applications written in Quarkus and run it on Knative. In the end we’ll have space for Q&A session.
