Abstracts

Title: The Composable Data Center
Speaker: Jason Lamb, Cloud / Software Defined Infrastructure Technology Solutions Specialist, Intel
Abstract: This session will describe the impact that societal digital transformation is having on data center architectures, and how automation is emerging as the key enabling technology for these transformed data center infrastructures. We’ll discuss how societal digital transformation drives more automated data center infrastructures, and what the emerging multi cloud management infrastructure looks like. We’ll close with looking at key Red Hat and Intel technologies in this multi cloud management ecosystem, as well as a glimpse in to the future of automated data center infrastructures.

Title: Automation Doesn’t Replace Your Job, It Strengthens Your Position
Speaker: Maksim Nikiforov, Solutions Architect
Abstract: Just about every business and agency is developing an IT automation strategy to increase their time to market and decrease human error. However, not everyone is excited about this new direction. Some IT workers are concerned that “automation” is a code word for “job elimination”. In this session, we’ll examine why that fear is not a reality. In fact, automation is having quite the opposite effect by creating new roles and career paths in IT. Ansible automation has simply shifted the workload from manual, time consuming, and error-prone tasks to automated workflows that are faster, safer, and reusable. But we need experts in those things we automate. Come hear about how you can strengthen your value in the workforce by embracing automation rather than dismissing it.

Title: Automation Analytics -- Now Included in your Ansible Automation Platform
Speakers: Anna Noftle, Product Marketing Manager and Bill Nottingham, Senior Principal Product Manager
Abstract: Automation Analytics, a new cloud service from Red Hat, provides valuable insights and data about what, when and where Ansible Automation is being used.  In addition, this data can also provide who is performing what automation and provide breakouts for comparing that data across an enterprise. We will walk through how to enable this feature on Ansible Tower and show the use cases we provide today.  We will discuss viewing automation across all Ansible Tower clusters for an enterprise, notifications of cluster health and finally breakdowns of Automation use by organizations. We’ll also discuss where we want to take Automation Analytics in the future, in conjunction with customers like you!

Title: How to Leverage Ansible Security Automation as a Dev or a SecOps Practitioner
Speaker: Colin McCarthy, Senior Solutions Architect
Abstract: Introducing automation into your security practices is easy, but planning is required to ensure to implement it in production and at scale.
