Online Event

ROSA in Action

ON-DEMAND

OVERVIEW

Together, AWS and Red Hat are now working to deliver Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA). This is a Managed Cloud Service for joint customers and partners, which helps them to transition towards a highly scalable, agile development environment.

This will allow our customers and partners to focus more on creating new, improved cloud services, and spend less time simply trying to make Kubernetes work effectively.

At the event, you’ll get the chance to understand exactly how ROSA works, why we’ve worked with AWS to build it, and how ISV partners are already using it to drive innovation and reach new sources of revenue.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to hear not just about why ROSA is different to other Managed Cloud Services out there, but exactly how real businesses are using it to create value. It should be a day full of insights, and a great chance to discuss different approaches to application development in the cloud.

The event is a chance for our expert teams and partners to show exactly how ROSA can help businesses in a tailored, simplified way. You’ll hear real-life stories from SAP, GitLab and Portworx how ROSA is helping their businesses to go further in developing new, more agile applications, to grow revenue and attract new customers.

Customer Story

10:35 AM – 10:50 AM
Keeping your SAP core clean with ROSA
SAP customers have historically developed large quantities of custom code written in ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) inside their SAP systems in order to create applications and extend standard data structures. All this custom code needs to be reviewed by the developers to make sure the standards in the new version cover the use cases each customization was created for. Does the custom code need to be kept, or can it be discarded? This long process adds massive overhead to the upgrade process, and typically takes from six months to over a year.
A solution to this is to stop developing inside of the SAP core and deploy all the applications and extensions somewhere else. That way the upgrade process can be straightforward, as only standard code is involved and it will not need to be reviewed when upgrading SAP. Red Hat and AWS have come up with a solution using Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) The main components of this solution are the SAP systems and the ROSA platform.
10:50 AM – 11:20 AM
GitLab & ROSA
With Gitlab running on Red Hat, customers can scale faster and code better, supporting a comprehensive DevOps platform that they can use to build, test and deploy applications at scale. We can help to modernize any IT infrastructure, and bring big ideas into reality with tight Kubernetes integration.
11:20 AM – 11:55 AM
Portworx & ROSA

Find out how Portworx and Red Hat are working together to help you run your Kubernetes applications. In this talk, learn how Portworx Kubernetes Data Platform delivers the enterprise-grade features you need to manage and automate the data in your Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA) environment while reducing the AWS infrastructure bill by up to 60%.

Attendees will learn how Portworx delivers multi-AZ, multi-region, multi-cloud support and disaster recovery workflows in concert with Red Hat OpenShift on AWS to help applications have the highest availability while protecting data from unexpected disasters.
