SESSION 1
During this event, we’ll provide an introduction to the platform and share key migration considerations for automation creators.
Ansible Automation Platform 2 was released in July 2021. With the release of the new platform, we made some architectural changes that paved the way for new features that:
- Make scaling automation less complex and more reliable.
- Run Ansible Playbooks inside container images, ensuring consistent and reliable execution.
- Allow fixes and enhancements of Ansible Automation Platform content as soon as it becomes available without upgrades.
Join us as we walk through these new features and demonstrate how you can start taking advantage of them. We’ll take an in-depth look at the various changes from 1.2 to 2.x, associated benefits, and when and how to refactor Playbooks.
We’ll also provide a demonstration focused on:
- Quickly updating Playbooks with fully qualified collection names in Playbooks with Visual Studio Code.
- Refactoring Playbooks that target localhost.
- Building custom execution environments (container images).
