Ansible® Automation Platform 2 was released in July 2021.  With the release of the new platform, we made some architectural changes that paved the way for new features that:

• Make scaling automation easier and more reliable
• Run playbooks inside container images ensuring consistent and reliable execution 
• Allow fixes and enhancements of Ansible content as soon as it becomes available without upgrades

• AAP 1.2 support timelines (September 2023 EOL)
• The various changes from 1.2 to 2.x and associated benefits
