What is an Ansible Workshop?

What is Ansible? How does it work in the most basic form on the command line - and where does Ansible Tower fit? Join our local Ansible experts for a comprehensive overview of Ansible Engine and Ansible Tower and how they work together to automate basic tasks. This workshop teaches the basics that you need to start using Ansible Automation on your own. 

 

What we will cover in the workshop 

Red Hat Ansible Engine: 

  • Basic understanding of what Ansible
  • Running ad-hoc Ansible commands from a command line 
  • Writing your first playbook 
  • Using variables 
  • Conditionals, Handlers and Loops 
  • Building templates 
  • Roles 

Red Hat Ansible Tower 

  • Installing Ansible Tower
  • Configuring Ansible Tower
  • Creating and running a job template

Who should attend? 

Beginner - Intermediate users of Ansible, DevOps engineers, operations engineers, systems engineers, release engineers, system administrators, developers, operations staff, network engineers, and security professionals.

Requirements

  • Attendees should have working knowledge of using SSH and command line shell (BASH) as well as a conceptual understanding of Linux system admin, DevOps and distributed application architecture.
  • Attendees must bring their own laptop
  • Attendees must have admin rights on their laptop and the ability to SSH to a lab environment hosted in a public cloud 

Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the day.
