Welcome to the DBS App Dev Workshops. Join us for these 2 days workshops specially packaged to introduce Red Hat application modernisation that includes introduction to OpensShift 4, building event-driven serverless applications with enterprise integration pattern (Camel K) and Service Mesh. These sessions will include demos and hands-on workshops, so don’t miss these developer sessions made for developers, by developers.
Day 1 Workshop:
OpenShift 4 Developer Update
This session shows how the various tools on OpenShift can help developers to build and deploy their applications to OpenShift.
Introduction to Serverless and Kafka
This session introduces developers to OpenShift Serverless and Camek K. OpenShift Serverless is based on the Knative open-source project, and serves as a quick way for developers to deploy their containerized applications on Kubernetes. Apache Camel K is a lightweight integration framework built from Apache Camel that runs natively on Kubernetes and is specifically designed for serverless and microservice architectures.
A Day In the Serverless Life with Camel K
This workshop is a series of hands-on modules which are designed to guide participants through the process of building cloud-native applications. The workshop provides experience using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Serverless (Knative and Camel K), and the AMQ streams technology in Red Hat AMQ and OpenShift Streams for Apache Kafka.
Day 2 Workshop:
Introduction to Service Mesh
This session introduces developers to OpenShift Service Mesh. OpenShift Service Mesh provides a platform insight and operational control over your networked microservices in a service mesh. With Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh, you can connect, secure, and monitor microservices in your OpenShift Container Platform environment.
OpenShift Service Mesh Workshop
In this service mesh workshop, students will learn to prevent cascading failures in a distributed environment, how to detect misbehaving services, and how to avoid having to implement resiliency and monitoring in your business logic.
