Data goes to work in challenging and unlikely places. Places like the International Space Station. Connected vehicles. Factory floors. Ships at sea. Even, in our own homes. Data might have traditionally belonged in the datacentre or cloud, but many important decisions need to happen out here–on the edge.
As agencies consider edge patterns, they need to consider increasing numbers of computing locations, some with intermittent connectivity and limited physical access. At the same time, privacy and security have never been more urgent, and traditional patterns for securing services in the data centre - like "access and agents" - can't be used at the edge, where connectivity and access breaks down. How do organisations secure data and services at the edge, and what do edge security skill-sets look like? What can we learn from the experience of security in the cloud?
Red Hat and Thales have supported organisations across Australia to create trusted services at the edge. Join us over breakfast, for this executive panel event, where we'll uncover how organisations are adapting and discovering new ways of operating edge services, and what this means for citizen-facing, digital services.
