The value and Convenience of running Ansible Automation Platform on Microsoft Azure
In November 2021, Red Hat and Microsoft announced Red Hat Ansible Automation on Microsoft Azure. This offering delivers the same capabilities of Ansible Automation Platform 2.1, but also includes a differentiated experience for Azure customers that includes the ability to pay for Ansible through Azure billing and your Azure committed spend agreements, a fast deployment model to let you focus on automation over infrastructure operations, managed infrastructure with support from Red Hat as part of your subscription, and packaged content for Azure automation. This session will provide an overview of Ansible Automation Platform on Azure as a Managed Application and how the differentiated experience of this offering can be of value to your organization.
Scott Harewell, Principal Product Manager, Red Hat

Disaster Recovery
In the day to day life of an IT administrator, disaster can strike at any time. This is why for a successful disaster recovery, you need to have an easily implemented plan for bringing your systems back online. Integrating Ansible with your disaster recovery plan can help to streamline fail safe systems and secure your data, quickly transition with failover systems, and get back online quickly. From tsunamis to zero day security breaches, we’ll talk about how Ansible can provide the tools necessary for a successful turnover.

Validated Patterns, Edge, and Imperative vs Declarative Automation
Learn about Martin and Chad’s collective experiences as customers and how this led to the work they are doing on the new Validated Pattern for Ansible Gitops as well as what a Red Hat Validated Pattern is. This session will also cover how Imperative and Declarative patterns are necessary for true gitops to happen which will be part of this latest pattern as it uses both Ansible and OpenShift to lifecycle manage applications on edge devices.
Chad Ferman, Senior Principal Product Manager - Technical, Red Hat and Martin Jackson, Senior Principal Software Engineer, Red Hat

Saving time and money by leveraging Ansible Automation for the Cloud
Join us as we discuss a client example who had opinions on certain tools that needed to be used:
  • Pipeline: Azure DevOps
  • Source Control: GitHub
  • Cloud Provider: AWS Managed Services (AMS)
After discussing certain limitations around the continuous deployment aspects for ADO (Azure DevOps) and AMS (AWS Managed Service) for provisioning infrastructure components using an RFC (request for change) process and then turning around to installing applications based on its functionality in the environment, we quickly realized that while this can be hand-crafted/created using scripts but mostly newly created mechanisms, we wanted to offload as much as possible to a tool that is already capable of learning/understanding AWS but also flexible enough to be taught new functionalities such as the RFC process within the AWS Managed Services ecosystem.

Using common, repeatable patterns with provisioning and deploying into a cloud-based ecosystem we were able to leverage Ansible to, develop the application playbooks/workflows as you normally would for installing and configuring applications use the pre-built modules for fact gathering (information about assets within a cloud provider) and dynamic inventory, treat it as any other deployment mechanism, while also being able to address missing components or problems in the automated chain.
