Hardening Windows endpoints: Compliance automation with Ansible
The compliance world can be unforgiving. The steps involved to fully harden an endpoint can be in the thousands, and many are deeply technical. Manual processes to implement these compliance controls are subject to human error, and in light of their quantity and difficulty, often time-consuming. Those who are already familiar with and who use compliance controls have many reasons for doing so. We will discuss some of the reasons to implement these types of controls before moving on to the automation of implementing them. Examples will highlight the benefits for administrators who do the implementation on the ground, as well as the benefits for auditors who are responsible for assessing the level of risk an information system introduces.

Automate layered network deployments with Ansible Automation Platform 2.x
Networks are composed of multiple devices, often with unique configurations depending on which layer of the network a device provides network services. The Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program provides a dynamic approach to fortifying the cybersecurity of government networks and systems. The CDM technical capabilities laid out by the Department of Homeland Security lists four Phases to this approach. In this talk we'll look at how Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform can help agencies achieve the CDM capabilities through repeatable, reusable automation.

Aaron Quackenbush, Product Specialist Solutions Architect, Red Hat
Aaron has 14 years of cybersecurity and information technology experience, holding multiple roles across the Department of Defense, intelligence community, and the corporate world. As a cybersecurity consultant, he developed automation solutions for secure tool deployments, and as a US Cyber Command veteran he gained a unique understanding of network architecture and solving mundane problems with automation. Aaron’s passion for cybersecurity led him to earn a degree in cyber security and information assurance; he also holds CompTIA’s Network Security Professional certification. At Red Hat, Aaron is a Product Specialist Solutions Architect, supporting the Ansible Automation Platform for the North American public sector.
 
Dale Lemons, Product Specialist Solutions Architect - Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat
Dale served in the US Army, where he was involved in security and compliance operations providing infrastructure as code, red team support, site surveys, analytics development, and some light forensics. Developing an automated way to provide secure, compliant, infrastructure was a crucial component of any potential incident response and the subsequent mitigation. This automation experience is what led Dale to Red Hat where he is a Product Specialist Solutions Architect, supporting the Ansible Automation Platform for the North American public sector.
 
Tony Dubiel, Associate Principal Solution Architect, Red Hat
Tony has over 25 years of experience in the network industry. As a network automation enthusiast and triple Cisco certified CCIE, he's a rare resource who understands the needs of developers and network engineers. In one of his many roles for Cisco, he led immersive DevNet automation workshops. At Red Hat, Tony serves North America public sector (NAPS) customers as a Network Domain Architect. His primary focus is the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).

Matt is a computer engineer whose work concentrates on Linux® and other free and open-source tools. Matt is currently focusing on IT automation for Red Hat's public sector customers.
 
Ajay Chenampara, Automation Strategist, Red Hat
Ajay has worked in the IT network industry for more than two decades. He is a Principal Solution Architect with Red Hat, focused on helping customers achieve their business outcomes using Ansible for automating their networks. Previously, he was the global datacenter architect for a top 10 Fortune 500 enterprise, leading the network automation efforts there. He also worked for a community-focused network automation startup, helping network engineers adopt DevOps tools and methodologies across the globe. Read his blog on termlen0.github.io.
