The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) reports that Australian organisations are increasingly being targeted by cyber security threats.
The ACSC’s Annual Cyber Threat Report 2020-21, stated that in the last financial year, it had received over 67,500 reports of cyber crime, a rise of 13 per cent year-on-year, with self-reported financial losses totalling more than $33 billion.
Leading the Australian Government’s efforts to prevent cyber crime, and to help cyber security professionals in all organisations mitigate cyber security incidents caused by various cyber threats, the ACSC published the Essential Eight - a set of baseline recommendations that define the minimum security controls that should be applied to protect IT systems.
Organisations are recommended to implement eight essential mitigation strategies from the ACSC’s Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents as a baseline, making it much harder for adversaries to compromise systems.
At Red Hat, we believe that implementing cyber security risk mitigation strategies should be automated instead of an unnecessary burden on IT teams.
We invite you to join this live and interactive online event on 17 November, where Shane Boulden, Associate Principal Solution Architect at Red Hat, will explain how Red Hat helps Australian organisations to automate security practices and processes, and implement guidance from the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
Shane Boulden supports Red Hat customers to create more secure platforms across the hybrid cloud and collaborates with the open source "Compliance as Code" project to automate Australian security requirements.
