LIVE WEBINAR FOR SGX DEVELOPER

SGX Developer Advocate Sessions 2021

Migrating existing applications into containers provides better manageability and greater portability. Often after the installation of Openshift Container Platform(OCP), Administrators are left wondering how to start the onboarding of different applications. We have curated a dedicated webinar series just for the SGX team to share with you the best practices on container deployment with Openshift 4.x and the tools and techniques.

Session 1: Introduction to OpenShift 4.6

Thursday, 11 November 2021, 12.00 pm - 1.30 pm SGT

This session introduces participants to OpenShift 4, and talks about Red Hat's vision for a hybrid cloud. It walks through the ecosystem around OpenShift and how they make life easier for operations teams and developers.

  • Why OpenShift is popular
  • Red Hat's strategy and vision for the hybrid cloud
  • Red Hat's ecosystem around the hybrid cloud

Who Should Attend

  • Developers and IT Operations who are interested in container technology

Session 2: Introduction to odo and Application Deployment

Thursday, 18 November 2021, 12.00 pm - 1.30 pm SGT

This session introduces participants to odo, OpenShift Do, a command line tool for creating applications on OpenShift. It will talk about the benefits of using odo, and showcase how odo will make developers speed up their inner development loop.

  • What odo is about
  • Benefits of using odo
  • Accelerating the development cycle with odo

Who Should Attend

  • Developers interested in developing applications that run on OpenShift

Session 3: Continuous Security for Cloud-native Applications

Thursday, 2 December 2021, 12.00 pm - 1.30 pm SGT

Red Hat recently launched Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes (RHACS). Powered by StackRox technology, RHACS protects your vital applications across build, deploy, and runtime. Our software deploys in your infrastructure and integrates with your DevOps tooling and workflows to deliver better security and compliance. The policy engine includes hundreds of built-in controls to enforce DevOps and security best practices, industry standards such as CIS Benchmarks and National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST) guidelines, configuration management of both containers and Kubernetes, and runtime security. Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes provides a Kubernetes-native architecture for container security, enabling DevOps and InfoSec teams to operationalize security.

  • Introduction: build, deploy, and run cloud-native applications securely anywhere
  • Overview of RHACS
  • Tour of RHACS console and features

Who Should Attend

  • Developers and IT Operations who are interested in container security and DevSecOps

Session 4: OpenShift 4.6 Console Walkthrough

Wednesday, 15 December 2021, 12.00 pm - 1.30 pm SGT

This session shows developers how the OpenShift Console can serve as a gentle introduction to OpenShift and Kubernetes. It walks participants through how they can quickly deploy and configure their applications with the OpenShift Web Console.

  • Tour of the OpenShift Console
  • Introduction to the Developer perspective and the topology view
  • Deploying and configuring an application using the OpenShift Console

Who Should Attend

Session 5: Introduction to OpenShift Serverless and Quarkus

Wednesday, 12 January 2021, 12.00 pm - 1.30 pm SGT

This session introduces developers to OpenShift Serverless and Quarkus. OpenShift Serverless is based on the Knative open-source project, and serves as a quick way for developers to deploy their containerized applications on Kubernetes. Quarkus is a Supersonic Subatomic Java framework, enabling developers to write cloud-native applications with a fast startup time and low memory overheads.

  • Benefits of using OpenShift Serverless
  • Why Quarkus is gaining traction among Java developers
  • How to write a REST service with a fast startup time and low memory consumption with Quarkus
