The State of North Carolina Department of Information Technology and Red Hat is coming together to tap into the power of community. Red Hat will dig into how open culture and open principles can drive innovation for the State of North Carolina, all while improving speed and efficiency to deliver capabilities faster.
To adapt to the demands of a new digital reality, government leaders are embracing open source software and the agile work methodology DevOps. For this event, State of North Carolina employees are invited to a hands-on workshop at the Innovation Center designed to answer these key questions from Red Hat:
Open Organization Academy
How do you build an open organization with innovative and engaged people?
Words like transparency, inclusivity, adaptability, collaboration, and even the word community itself sounds great, but what do they really mean? Learn how you can take these sometimes vague and abstract concepts and turn them into tangible principles that your organization can put into practice.
Builders Academy
How can software enhance and optimize the performance of your organization?
Which of your organization’s essential functions and capabilities are dependent on software? Learn about the development practices, tools, and methods your organization should employ to deliver those capabilities faster.
Technology Academy
How are open source technologies shaping the future?
During the Technology Academy learn about three specific software development patterns to modernize existing applications. These modernization patterns address transitioning existing applications to more modern architectures and infrastructure and making them accessible to new applications. We'll also discuss the conditions that lead to rewriting when that is the only option. These patterns help enterprises figure out how to get the most out of existing applications and establish a culture for continuous modernization that will serve the mission now and in the future.
