Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform is a foundation for building and operating automation across an organization. The platform includes all the tools needed to implement enterprise-wide automation.
A hands-on workshop used to teach the fundamentals of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform through installation and management of web servers deployed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.
What you'll learn
What is Ansible, how does it work in the most basic form on the command line - and where does Ansible Tower fit it?
This workshop teaches the basic bits you need to start using Ansible Automation on your own. In the second half we will focus on Ansible Tower and show where it fits in - and when and why you absolutely need it when you automate more and more.
Who should attend
System administrators and operators who manage and configure enterprise Linux systems. Attendees should have little to no experience with Ansible or the Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform. This is a beginners level course that covers Ansible fundamentals for common system administration scenarios.
Attendees should have basic Linux administration skills and experience using standard commands such as curl, cd, tree, mkdir and understand Linux filesystems as well as standard package management (e.g. yum). There is no expectation for using command-line text editors such as vim, students will be provided with Visual Studio Code in their web browser. Beginner level students that want to learn common use cases for Ansible on Red Hat Enterprise will be at home here.
Ansible Network Automation workshop is targeted at network engineers. During the workshop we will cover the Introduction to Ansible automation and how Ansible works for network automation. Then we will get hands on to understanding Ansible modules and playbooks, while executing Ansible playbooks to:
