Who is this workshop best for?

This workshop is intended as an introductory course for Ansible® Network Automation. The intended audience is someone who has limited or no exposure to writing Ansible Playbooks or using Ansible Automation. This workshop will cover common network scenarios and topics and is best suited for network engineers or folks interested in network automation.

Description

The Ansible Network Automation Workshop is a one-day, hands-on workshop covering Ansible Automation with respect to routers and switches. Attendees will learn how to use Ansible to automate network operations, and acquire the skills needed to implement Ansible Automation at their organizations.

Note: In this workshop, attendees will be managing network devices, such as Arista, Cisco, and Juniper routers.

Requirements for Attendees:

  • An internet connection is required. Attendees must have a laptop with admin rights and the ability to SSH/HTTP to a lab environment hosted in a public cloud.
  • Attendees should have a working knowledge of using SSH and command line shell (BASH) as well as a conceptual understanding of linux system administration (how to use simple commands like cd, ls, mv, mkdir, etc).
  • Attendees should have working knowledge of at least one Linux text editor (nano, pico, vi/vim, zile, emacs) with which to write Ansible playbooks. Or alternatively be familiar with VS Code.

  • Explore the Ansible Tower environment
  • Create an Ansible Job Template
  • Create an Ansible Survey
  • Using the Ansible Role Based Access Control (RBAC) feature
  • Create an Ansible Workflow
