You need your morning coffee fix, so you head to the nearest coffee shop. When you step up to the kiosk or drive up to the window to order, you set off a chain of quick communications and events behind the scenes to not only get your favorite java quickly, but to also keep that coffee flowing for those people lining up in back of you. You’ve just queued up an event driven architecture experience.
Event Driven Architectures are distributed, asynchronous, and scalable. The rise of real time decision making, the on-demand economy, explosion of data, and the adoption of microservices have all fueled the adoption of event driven architectures.
Red Hat’s Quarkus Coffee Shop is a cool virtual experience that will take you through your own coffee order to show you how all this is put to work -- all done through an event driven platform of microservices connected by Kafka and deployed on OpenShift. In this presentation we will walk through the design, architecture, and deployment of the Coffee Shop microservices with multiple running Coffeeshops and you, the audience placing orders. We’ll dive into Domain Driven Design, Event Storming, building Quarkus applications, GraphQL web services, and multi-cloud management.
