Session abstracts

Renewing your IT culture with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
Abraham Snell, Senior Solution Architect, Red Hat

The conflict of system availability needs for business value vs. the necessity of system security and maintenance downtime is a seemingly unresolvable conflict. This session is designed to walk attendees through the technical and business processes of building an automated solution with patching as an example use case. Using Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform, we will develop an automated solution while simultaneously pointing out opportunities for change in communication, business value, and culture.

Automating for DevOps with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
Vinny Valdez, Senior Principal Architect, Red Hat

Whether you’re unsure of where to start or struggling to expand automation beyond localized successes, you need to implement best practices to achieve the sustained transformation that enterprise-wide automation brings. In  this session, we’ll discuss the critical early steps for adopting automation successfully.

A Tale of Two Vaults
Jason Ritenour, Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, Red Hat

There’s no way around it—automation requires storing and handling credentials. Whether it’s a password, a private key, or a cloud provider access key, Ansible Vault lets you store and retrieve them more securely. However, as your DevOps toolchain expands, you’ll likely find you need your non-Ansible tools to handle these credentials as well. In this session, you’ll find out how to use a third party secrets management system, HashiCorp Vault, in conjunction with Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform to make safeguarding your credentials and other sensitive data dynamic and automated.

Adopting automation at enterprise scale
Walter Bentley, Senior Manager for Automation Practice, Red Hat

Organizations adopt automation to minimize the time and errors associated with manual configuration processes. Enterprise-wide automation is attractive because it provides scalability and agility, accelerating outcomes with consistent and repeatable processes that support a DevOps culture. While the promise of enterprise-wide automation is appealing, without a well-defined strategy, tooling, and people-centered approach, the benefits are quickly lost to constant change and lack of clarity. In this session, we’ll discuss proven approaches to implementing automation at scale using Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform. Join us to find out about key steps and considerations that promote success with an automation-first enterprise.

Automation Hub: Host your Ansible content anywhere!
Sean Cavanaugh, Technical Marketing Manager for Ansible Network Automation, Red Hat

In this session, we’ll discuss Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform, Ansible Content Collections, and how it distributes Ansible content. We will also discuss Automation Hub and why it's important as well as the newest Ansible Automation Platform component: Private Automation Hub. Private Automation Hub allows customers to host and curate their own Ansible Content Collections on-premises with their own infrastructure. Just like Red Hat Satellite helps our customers host Red Hat Enterprise Linux® content, Private Automation Hub does the same for Ansible content.
