Learn, Build, and Deploy
with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8:
An Interactive Workshop

October 20, 202012:00 PM - 1:30 PM(GMT-04:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Modern IT is hybrid IT. But turning a sprawling ecosystem—from traditional data centers to public cloud services—into a true hybrid environment requires a few things. Scaling as needed. Moving workloads seamlessly. Developing and managing applications that run anywhere. There's an operating system that makes those things possible. Join us for a series of lunchtime sessions that will give you insight into detailed aspects of Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 8 and how they can help you solve real-world problems...because what you do today sets the stage for what you can do tomorrow.

In this hands-on workshop with Red Hat experts, you will learn how to:

  • Improve SQL Server performance by using Red Hat Enterprise Linux performance tools and SQL Server Columnstores.
  • Explore how Podman helps you run workloads in containers by taking an existing container image and deploying it into a runtime environment.
  • Collect data on various system activities, such as disk performance, latency, and more using the bcc-tools. This data can help identify issues with application performance.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This workshop is ideal for developers, system administrators, and architects with a technical background interested in learning how the tools in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 enable faster delivery of workloads, with less effort.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Lab materials will be provided.
  • Attendees should have a basic understanding of working with Linux systems and must bring a laptop with Chrome 73+, Firefox 60+, Edge 40+, or Safari 12+ installed.  There is no student prep work required prior to the workshop.
