Red Hat Tech Talks: Quarkus

November 10, 202010:00 AM - 12:00 PM (GMT+01:00) Greenwich Mean Time : Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London
About the Tech Talk
At Red Hat we know that your time is precious. We also know that you want to accelerate innovation, become more efficient, improve quality and reduce project costs. So, we have created a series of Tech Talks to introduce you to Red Hat technology where we will present and demonstrate a specific topic with time for you to ask questions and discuss your scenario.

This talk is on Red Hat Quarkus

Red Hat Quarkus is a full-stack, Kubernetes-native Java framework made for Java virtual machines (JVMs) and native compiliation, optimising Java specifically for containers and enabling it to become an effective plaform for serverless, cloud and Kubernetes enivornments. The optimised framework means significant memory savings when running Java, and significant startup time improvements making Java suited to Serverless work loads.

The presentation and demonstration will look at why we need a new framework and what the problem is with existing frameworks, what are the benefits of turning to a 'new' Java framework, and how does Quarkus work. The presentation will finish with a live demonstration showing you how to get started, and build your first application with Quarkus.

How is it delivered?
Due to the current requirement for many to work from home, we have adapted the event for remote delivery.
