There a four phases to the virtual Hackathon:

Before you take part in the Hackathon, we strongly recommend that you complete a minimum of two Learning Paths by October 7, or already have other Ansible certification. Please make sure you have completed relevant training on

You can also visit the topic oriented labs on RHPDS for more information on specific subjects that fit your individual needs. Information about how to sign up to RHPDS can be found in Mojo.

  2. Live virtual enablement phase from October 8 to 25, 2020

This is the time to accelerate your automation skills. The live enablement sessions are an opportunity to learn from, and interact with, the top Ansible experts at Red Hat and IBM. Watch out for an email from Magdalena Sobiak, HST Enablement Leader from IBM, with more details on the enablement sessions.

We encourage you to watch the following 6 enablement sessions by IBM:

Once you have completed the education and attended the enablement sessions, you can register your participation on the GitHub repository. We will be sending a separate communication giving more details about this. You may register as an individual, but we encourage you to team up with other IBMers and/or Red Hatters.

Once you have registered, you will receive an email invite to the Hackathon communication and support channel on SLACK , where you can raise questions and to collaborate with your peers.

  4. Hackathon contest phase from October 26 to November 23, 2020

You will have three weeks to develop your automation idea and create the code, in line with the development themes that we will share at the start of October. This phase will be run through the GitHub repository.
