You will learn how Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform changes the way you run mission-critical applications as well as how to leverage an assembly line approach that automates increasing levels of security assurance for each step in the process.

Attendees will get hands-on, applying DevSecOps techniques in building a Secure Software Factory on OpenShift for a Java based application leveraging several containerized tools such as Gogs, Nexus, Jenkins, Sonarqube, and Eclipse Che.

Overview

In the new era of containers and DevSecOps it is important for developers, operations, and security professionals to have a base understanding of containers and the surrounding ecosystem. This workshop touches on operational, development, and security concepts that are important for each discipline to be aware of.

During this workshop the Red Hat team will guide you through a series of presentations and labs. Attendees will come out of this workshop with a base understanding of containers and the container ecosystem. Customers will get hands on experience by building a Secure Software Factory for a Java based application leveraging several containerized tools such as Gogs, Nexus, Jenkins, Sonarqube, and Eclipse Che.

Senior Middleware Solutions Architect, Red Hat Canada
Gerald Nunn is a Solution Architect with Red Hat specializing in application development including the JBoss middleware portfolio as well as OpenShift. Prior to joining Red Hat last year, he spent thirteen years as a consultant helping customers architect and implement integration solutions. In his spare time, when not saving the universe in whatever video game he happens to be playing at the moment, he enjoys writing code and working on various open source projects.
