Please join us for two exciting presentations on “Extending the Kubernetes API with KubeVirt and Operators” and "Day 2-- Now What do I do? Openshift and Sysdig | Stronger together.” Doors will open at 4:30 and the first presentation will start at 5:00.
Ryan Hallisey will lead our first presentation and will be discussing upstream development work taking place with Kubernetes and the Kubevirt project to bring virtual machines (VMs) and containers into a common management platform. For our second presentation, Rich Schofield from SysDig will present on Day 2 challenges of Container Management and Sysdig's partnership with Red Hat to address these challenges.
As always, we will be providing pizza, beer and wine during the event with prizes to be raffled at the end.
Please RSVP early to secure your spot!
Over the last two years, Kubernetes has undergone a radical shift from a platform with a finite set of APIs to a platform with fully extensible APIs. A user is no longer confined to pods, replication controllers, and statefulsets. Instead, a user can create new APIs like virtualmachines and virtualmachinesinstances and define them to be exactly what the name indicates: virtual machines. This versatility has led to the creation of patterns and best practices in the community regarding how to best extend the Kubernetes API, with Operators leading the way.
Ryan will introduce Kubernetes and the KubeVirt project and explain how it’s possible for Virtual Machines to be managed along side pods by extending the Kubernetes API. In addition, Ryan will speak to what extending the Kubernetes API means for users by talking about the Operator pattern and its role in KubeVirt.
