Red Hat OpenShift 4.x ships with Service Mesh, an integrated and optimized instance of Istio. Service Mesh enables developers to reduce app micorservice complexity via a software defined network backplane and enables deep observability into app performance. The purpose of this demo is to show developers how to pull a legacy application through a complete digital transformation to OpenShift. The presenter will demonstrate how to convert a legacy application to microservices, deploy via containers, integrate to service mesh, configure and use the bundled Prometheus, Kiali, Jaeger, and Grafana tools for application observation.
