Thinking Reactive: A practical guide to building Microservices

Developing applications that are reactive, event-driven, and polyglot are required for today's application architecture. While cloud infrastructure and container or Kubernetes solutions—such as Red Hat® OpenStack® Platform and Red Hat OpenShift® Container Platform—provide a robust infrastructure foundation for distributed environments, similar seamless application services require building applications that take full advantage of such an infrastructure. In this talk we will take a look at Quarkus the Kubernetes Native Java framework and how we can easily build reactive microservices, and finally how it enables an event driven architecture with e.g. Kafka, Debezium etc.

During this webinar you will learn:

  • What is reactive programming and architecture
  • Understand the power of Quarkus/Vert.x as a reactive framework
  • Understand the internals of Quarkus and how it unifies imperative and reactive
  • How the above applied to Event Driven Architecture and Kubernetes
