OVERVIEW

The Red Hat OpenShift DevSecOps Roadshow is a technical experience designed for DevOps, security, operations, and platform engineering professionals who are interested in modern practices and tooling. This hands-on event is an opportunity to explore Red Hat’s DevOps portfolio, which is centered on Argo CD for GitOps and Tekton for pipelines.

 

What you’ll learn and experience:

Teams that want to improve or expand their DevSecOps strategy and tooling will have several opportunities to learn how in this workshop, including:

  • Continuous improvement and continuous development (CI/CD): Gain an overview of (CI/CD), including how to implement CD with security gates, image scanning, and signing

  • Pipeline creation: Gain experience with Tekton task and pipeline creation plus pipeline execution and logging

  • Workflows: Explore creating a DevSecOps workflow with GitOps

  • Security best practices: Explore software supply chain security, securing storage in a trusted registry, and deploying applications to secured clusters with advanced security, monitoring, and alerting

Minimum skill sets:
 
Participants are expected to be familiar with general application development and infrastructure concepts including:
 
  • OpenShift
  • DevOps 
  • Basic use of Tekton
  • GitOps concepts
  • Linux command line and OpenShift command line
  • Linux containers and Docker
  • Kubernetes concepts
