OVERVIEW

Join us for an in-person workshop where we will cover two Ansible® topics: Ansible Automation Platform for Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® and Event-Driven Ansible. We’ll kick off the day with a short introductory lab focusing on Ansible fundamental functionality, and then dive into the more advanced features of Event-Driven Ansible.

Ansible Automation Platform for Red Hat Enterprise Linux

This short, introductory lab is the perfect opportunity for you to dive into the fundamentals of command line activities and discover how to leverage Ansible for your automation needs. Throughout this workshop, you'll gain hands-on experience as we guide you through writing your first Ansible Playbook, working with Jinja templates, and implementing higher-level Ansible roles.

The section of the workshop will cover:

  1. Overview of public cloud provisioning
  2. The Ansible basics
  3. Deploying applications to Linux hosts
  4. Retrieving information from automation hosts
  5. Self-service IT via surveys
  6. Overview of system roles for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
By the end of this section of the workshop, you will be well-equipped to apply your newfound knowledge to implement Ansible Automation Platform in your specific use cases. You'll gain confidence in handling automation tasks and leveraging the power of Ansible to streamline your processes.

Event-Driven Ansible

As a part of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Event-Driven Ansible can process events containing discrete intelligence about conditions in the IT environment, determine the appropriate response to the event, then execute automated actions to address or remediate the event. This section of the workshop will demonstrate Event-Driven Ansible and how it provides the event-handling capability needed to automate time-consuming tasks and respond to changing conditions in any IT domain. This workshop requires students to have beginner-level knowledge of command-line Ansible, Visual Studio Code, and Git.

The section of the workshop will cover:
  1. Why organizations should leverage Event-Driven Ansible
  2. Introduction into EDA concepts and use cases
  3. Introduction into Rulebooks and Rulebook operation
  4. Ansible-rulebook (cli-tool)
  5. EDA Controller (webUI for Event-Driven Ansible)
  6. Advanced Rulebook creation
Who is this workshop best for?

Section 1: Ansible Automation Platform for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
