In-Person Workshop

AWS and Red Hat GameDay Melbourne

Friday, 22 November, 2024 | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM AEDT
Amazon Web Services Melbourne, Level 13, 555 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, Australia 3000

OVERVIEW

Join us for a Red Hat and Amazon Web Services (AWS) GameDay in Melbourne

What is a GameDay?

Join us for an exhilarating gamified learning event that challenges participants to use Red and AWS solutions to solve real-world technical problems in a fun and risk-free environment.

Participants are organised into small teams, and will immerse themselves in a morning of friendly, yet competitive challenges, all aimed at advancing their understanding and proficiency in Red Hat products, AWS services, architecture patterns and best practices.

This approach is unconventional compared to other learning formats. Ambiguity and non-prescriptive guidance allow participants to work collaboratively and think creatively as they navigate a wide array of technical challenges. There is no one right answer; teams pave their own path based on resources provided, within live AWS accounts.

Gain hands-on experience

This GameDay is suitable for IT architects, Application Developers, DevOps Engineers, Platform Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers and IT sysadmins. If you have foundational AWS and Red Hat expertise (L200) and basic terminal knowledge (L100-200), this GameDay is an unmissable opportunity to enhance your technical prowess in a fun format and compete to take home the converted GameDay team trophy!

Gain experience with:

  • Container fundamentals with podman on Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (Amazon EC2)
  • Container image management and security scanning with Red Hat Quay
  • ML model training and serving using OpenShift AI, Event streaming with OpenShift Streams for Apache Kafka deployed on ROSA
  • Developer Experience with OpenShift Dev Spaces and CLI tooling
  • Application Containerization and Autoscaling
  • CI/CD, and GitOps with ROSA OpenShift Pipelines (ArgoCD) and ROSA OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton)

Date: Friday 22 November 2024
Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM AEDT followed by lunch (optional)
