Session #1: Explore Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8!
Bring your laptops as we explore new features in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.  In this session we will review some of the new features found in Red Hat Enterprise Linux v8 and experiment with those features in a cloud environment.  Bring your own laptop to this session and get hands-on with the new features including the RHEL web console, session recording, application streams, building and deploying containers with Buildah and Podman, and more.
We will also talk about What’s New in RHELv8.1.
Session #2: Some Assembly Required -- A Look at Hot Kernel Patching with Kpatch in RHELv7.7+ and RHELv8.1+
Did you know that kernel hot patching is now supported in RHEL v7.7+ and v8.1+ with hot patches that appear in the Red Hat Content Delivery Network (CDN)?  Creating cases to obtain kernel kpatches are no longer required! Come join us as we first explore the requirements, limitations, and components of hot kernel patching and finally demonstrate Kpatch to patch a running kernel without rebooting or restarting processes.  We will talk about the use cases of hot patching and how one might integrate kpatch into an enterprise errata management strategy using Red Hat Satellite.
About the presenter: Scott Danielson
Scott Danielson is a Senior Solution Architect for Red Hat based out of Naperville, IL. When not working with technology you will find Scott somewhere between holes 1 and 18 golfing with his family.
