Gather with Red Hat® and One Technology® along with your local community for a technical presentation exploring the possibilities that await your infrastructure modernization journey. The event will start with a “What are Containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift” session led by One Technology’s Ian Logan, designed to level up infrastructure engineers and lay the groundwork for their Kubernetes journey. Then, Red Hatters Travis Tutor and Chris Bowland, will lead a session catering to VMWare admins and infrastructure architects that takes a comprehensive look at a Next-Generation Virtualization Platform, including fundamentals, importing VMS, networking, storage, and more.
What are Containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift?
OpenShift brings together modern virtualization and container management technologies. This session will introduce the key concepts that infrastructure engineers will need to understand in order to be ready for OpenShift Virtualization. Topics will include “what is a container”, as well as Kubernetes and OpenShift concepts like pods, storage volumes, projects, and operators, and a demonstration of the OpenShift UI. No prior experience with containers, OpenShift, or Kubernetes is needed.
Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization
OpenShift Virtualization enables you to bring virtual machines onto a modern, Kubernetes-based infrastructure. It enables the development and delivery of new applications as well as the modernization of existing ones and can run applications that consist of virtual machines, containers, and serverless functions - all managed together using Kubernetes-native tools and paradigms. This session will focus on infrastructure modernization concerns and will explore common management activities that virtual administrators often encounter in their day to day workflows.
