Join Red Hat for a hands-on workshop with Red Hat® OpenShift® Service on AWS Workshop. During the workshop, Red Hat experts will guide you through deploying a modern application platform on ROSA and AWS.

Registration and Lunch starting at 12:00 PM CT. The workshop will begin at 1:00 PM CT.

Who: This half-day, in-person workshop is ideal for Platform Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Cloud Operations, Architects, and Developers who need a flexible and proven platform to build, deploy and scale applications.

What to expect: During the workshop, attendees will learn how to deploy a modern application platform by leveraging Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS, and other AWS cloud services. Through a series of hands on modules and instructor led presentations, attendees will:

• Get an introduction and overview to Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS.
• Deploy a node.js based application via Source-to-Image (S2I).
• Overview of built-in dashboards for inventory, metrics and utilization.
• Configure k8s resource limits and horizontal pod autoscaler (HPA).
• Inject environment variables and secrets.
• Utilize k8s network policies to control cluster egress.
• Discuss k8s cost tracking/charge back strategy. 

Attendees should have fundamental knowledge of AWS concepts, familiarity with the Linux CLI, fundamental experience with kubernetes and container technologies. All attendees should bring a laptop to perform the hands-on portions of the workshop.

Following the workshop please join us for happy hour at Two Mules Cantina in the Texican Court Hotel (directly across from the Irving Convention Center) from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM CT.
