Unleashing the Power of Event-Driven Automation with Red Hat Ansible Platform and Dynatrace
Jairam Ramaswamy, Manager Technical Alliances
The worst thing for your IT teams is to get a 2am call on the weekend that a critical system has gone down – especially with cascading alerts and no clear root cause. As IT environments get increasingly complex, it can be difficult to understand dependencies between applications, where key services are running, and what changes could cause problems. Monitoring alone isn’t enough – on average, organizations only have visibility into 9% of their infrastructure.
The combination of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Dynatrace® cuts through the complexity of hybrid clouds and cloud native environments. Dynatrace provides visibility and actionable intelligence into the entire infrastructure topology, impact assessments for incidents, and real-time root cause analysis. This can then power Event-Driven Ansible to respond to and remediate incidents in seconds.
This session covers:
  • Best practices for setting up event-driven automation, including cross-team collaboration, common metrics, and ways to identify meaningful use cases
  • Examples of playbooks that customers have used to address their own challenges
  • A live demo of Dynatrace and Event-Driven Ansible identifying and remediating issues
2:30 PM – 2:55 PM
Ansible Automation Platform: Configuration as Code

In this session, you will see an example of how you can create AAP dev/test environments using AAP configuration as code. A demo will be provided that shows how the new containerized install feature would help you pre-populate content in AAP at the installation time.
2:55 PM – 3:20 PM
Improving Enterprise Automation through Powershell and Ansible
Sean Anderson, Specialist Solution Architect, Ansible - Red Hat
Automation can take many forms, though most often starts in the form of command line tools like powershell and bash. In this session, we will explore how Ansible can extend and scale the capabilities of scripted automation tools such as powershell to better automate enterprise environments.
